Things to see and do

Sedgeford House is situated a short distance from Whitchurch town centre and close to all the major routes making an ideal base for touring Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales whether you are motoring, cycling or walking.

Medieval, Tudor and Georgian buildings abound throughout the town. St Alkmunds Church is a magnificent building which dominates the Whitchurch skyline and is one of the largest 18th century churches in the country.

For golfers there are two 18 hole courses in Whitchurch at MacDonalds Hill Valley Golf and Country Club. Hawkstone Park and Carden Park are also located nearby.

For race goers there are race meetings at Bangor-On-Dee, Ludlow and Chester.

Walkers will come to Whitchurch on route for the Sandstone trail, Offa's Dyke, Maelor Way and the Mercian Way.

There are many castles, historic houses and gardens nearby. Attractions include Hawkstone Park & Follies, Erddig House, Stokesay Castle, Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, Wollerton Old Hall Gardens, Stapeley Water Gardens, Dorothy Clive Garden and numerous National Trust properties in the region.

For railway enthusiasts the Severn Valley Railway is only an hour away.

If you are interested in getting the adrenaline pumping then Whitchurch is home to the North Shropshire Parachute Centre and the Shropshire Rally School.
