Things to see and do

For golfers there are two 18 hole courses at MacDonalds Hill Valley, in Whitchurch, ask about our special discount green fees available when you stay for a golfing break. Hawkstone Park and Carden Park golf courses are also located nearby.

Walkers come to Whitchurch on route for the Sandstone trail, the Llangollen Canal, Offa's Dyke, Maelor Way and the Mercian Way.

Start your canal holiday by staying with us before picking up your boat from the Viking Centre.

If you are interested in getting the adrenaline pumping then Whitchurch is home to the North Shropshire Parachute Centre and the Shropshire Rally School.

For race goers there are race meetings at Bangor-On-Dee, Ludlow and Chester.

Sedgeford House is situated a short distance from Whitchurch town centre and close to all the major routes making an ideal base for touring Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales whether you are motoring, cycling or walking.

Medieval, Tudor and Georgian buildings abound throughout the town. St Alkmunds Church is a magnificent building which dominates the Whitchurch skyline and is one of the largest 18th century churches in the country.

There are castles, historic houses and gardens nearby and numerous National Trust properties in the region. Attractions include Hawkstone Park & Follies, Erddig House, Stokesay Castle, Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, Wollerton Old Hall Gardens, Stapeley Water Gardens, Dorothy Clive Garden.
